ASHEBORO, N.C. -- The North Carolina Zoo's giraffes have been one of its most popular exhibits for more than 8 years.
But this year, the typically skittish giraffes, are more comfortable than ever with all of the people.
"They are prey animals, so they can be a little bit timid, so it's taken a lot of training for them to build up the courage to feed from the public," said Zookeeper Jody Wiley. "In fact, this has been our best year to date. Where it used to only be one or two of the giraffes that would participate up here, this year all four participate."
