From the 500-pound lion to the 5-pound sand cat, you can see a wide variety of cats at the NC Zoo.
The sand cat, which arrived this winter from a zoo in the Czech Republic, is a new addition to the zoo.
His name is “Cosmos” and zoo keepers hope he can help the current population of sand cats in U.S. zoos. There are less than 30 left.
Soon, a female sand cat will join “Cosmos” and hopefully little 1-pound sand cat kittens will follow.
