There’s something very American about wanting to own your own business. But it isn’t easy.
“It’s not easy but it’s much more rewarding,” says Brittany Shepherd, who has been a licensed massage therapist for 7 years.
What Brittany and so many other entrepreneurs were looking for was another way to do it.
“I always wanted my own salon – that was my biggest dream, in the world,” says Lisa Carlyle. But she didn’t like the “drama” that comes with having employees – or the headache of keeping up with property taxes or having to fix the air-conditioner when it breaks.
So Brittany, Lisa and nearly three dozen other small business owners have taken advantage of an idea that works for them – and unlike traditional salons and similar businesses.
For business partners, Alanna Pfaff and Susanna McFarlane, “This is how we can become a brand.”
