Organizers at Proehlific Park in Greensboro are always looking for new ways to help children in the local community, including a race set for March that will raise money for scholarships.

Blaze Thompson will be leading the race, entitled St. Patty's Revenge, which is scheduled for March 3 at the park.

"Our goal isn't to knock you out or cover you with mud. But our goal is to challenge you to do something completely different," Thompson said.

The event includes 2-1/2 miles of stairwell runs, bear crawls, tarp pulls, lunges, a run through the woods, situps, pushups, and more.

"You have to make it fun for kids," Thompson said. "You have to confuse them a little bit. It's really exercise, but we are going to call it a game."

The race is designed for all ages and the entry fees will go toward funding scholarships. Cost of entry will be $20 for children, $25 for teenagers and $40 for adults.
