ORLANDO, Fla. — The North Carolina Tar Heels football team fell to Baylor, 49-38, in the Russell Athletic Bowl on Tuesday night.
The Tar Heels jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter but it would prove to be their final lead of the game.
Baylor took a 28-17 lead into halftime and never looked back.
UNC quarterback Marquise Williams passed for 243 yards with three touchdowns and an interception in the game.
Baylor running back Johnny Jefferson had a stellar game, rushing for 299 yards and three touchdowns.
The Russell Athletic Bowl was played in Orlando, Fla., at the Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium.
