GREENSBORO, N.C. — The suspension of Dudley High School quarterback Hendon Hooker has been overturned, according to Dudley football head coach Steven Davis.
In the second quarter of Friday’s Dudley-Davie County game, with Dudley in scoring position, quarterback Hendon Hooker ran the ball on first down. After Hooker was tackled on about the 5-yard line the referees threw the yellow flag.
The refs gave Hooker an unsportsmanlike penalty for throwing a punch.
He was ejected and was to be suspended for one game for the penalty per NCHSAA rules.
Dudley appealed the call and the suspension was overturned.
