GREENSBORO, N.C. — Despite the little snow from the other night, high school baseball season is here.

Practice opened for most schools on February 13 and before practice started, many local players sharpened their skills at the Greensboro Batting Center.

The center is celebrating 25 years in business, which was founded by owner Alan Ashkinazy.  Ashkinazy opened the center as a way to stay connected to the local baseball scene after he stopped playing in the minor leagues.

The center, located on High Point Road, will have a big anniversary celebration from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
