DURHAM, N.C. — Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski has improved after feeling dizzy and light-headed during and after Wednesday night’s loss to Wake Forest.

Krzyzewski had to take a knee during a timeout late in the game and missed his postgame news conference. He was checked out by the team’s medical staff and was then taken to Duke University Medical Center when he returned to Durham, according to a statement by the university.

“Coach Krzyzewski experienced lightheadedness during and after the Duke-Wake Forest game on Wednesday night. Following the contest, he was examined by Duke medical personnel on site and again at Duke University Hospital for precautionary tests upon returning to Durham. His symptoms and condition have improved considerably, and Coach Krzyzewski was sent home during the early morning hours on Thursday.”

Krzyzewski left the arena under his own power, the Raleigh News and Observer reported.
