Dudley Panthers win 4-A state championship

RALEIGH, N.C. — Dudley won the 4-A state championship game after its 24-7 win over Scotland at Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday.

ESPN Triad reported that Dudley Running Back Lamarc Waltington is the 4-A Championship Game’s Most Valuable Player after running for 160 yards and two touchdowns.

The Greensboro News & Record reported that the Panthers finished a perfect season in the first championship that the school has won since 2008.

It was the 11th time Dudley’s defense has held an opponent to seven points or fewer this season, according to the paper.
