GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A local pastor and die-hard Carolina Panthers fan got the send-off of a lifetime Thursday.

Dozens of church members from Kingdom Vision Life Center threw a surprise send-off party for Pastor Ronald Wilson at his home.

Wilson normally throws a Super Bowl party every year but since he’ll be at the game, his church family brought the party to him.

Last week, Wilson’s wife Rachel along with church members surprised the pastor with tickets to the Super Bowl.

His wife also got Wilson tickets to the NFC divisional and conference championship games.

Wilson’s church family says the Super Bowl ticket and surprise party is their way of giving back to someone who does so much for the community.

"He does a lot for our entire church, for people outside the church,” said Tee Newkirk, a church member. “He really is a man of God who gives his life for us."

"I'm just overjoyed right now,” Wilson said. “Heart-pounding, trying to catch my breath."

Wilson, his wife, and their newborn will all be heading to the Bay Area Friday.

However, his wife and baby won't be going to the game.
