CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers’ tough season may have just gotten a little bit tougher.
During the team’s 23-20 victory over the New Orleans Saints Thursday night, linebacker Luke Kuechly was carted off the field to be evaluated for a concussion after he collided with Saints running back Tim Hightower in the fourth quarter.

Kuechly, who led the team with 14 tackles before he left, was in tears immediately after the injury.
He missed three games last season with a concussion. As of Friday morning, the injury’s severity is unknown.
The fifth-year linebacker has been named to the Pro Bowl three times and won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.
The Panthers, who play the 7-2 Oakland Raiders on Nov. 27, are now 4-6.
Get well soon, Luke!
Prayers up for @LukeKuechly
