Cam Newton will not play during Monday’s game against Tampa Bay

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Cam Newton will not play during Monday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to the NFL.

The Carolina Panthers ruled out the quarterback after he suffered a concussion during the Panthers’ loss Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Derek Anderson will take over the offense in Newton’s absence, according to NFL.

The Panthers will also play without Michael Oher, Vernon Butler, James Bradberry and Jonathan Stewart, who are out on various injuries.

The game starts at 8:30 p.m. Monday at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
