In a tweet, the Philadelphia Police Department offered to give hip-hop artist Kanye West a job to get out of debt.

Last week West dropped his latest album “The Life of Pablo,” announcing it was available on his website and the streaming service Tidal.

According to CNN, after many fans complained about not wanting to pay for a Tidal subscription to listen to West’s new album, he tweeted saying, “I write this to you my brothers while still 53 million dollars in personal debt… Please pray we overcome… This is my true heart…”

West also reportedly reached out to Mark Zuckerberg for a small loan. Zuckerberg never responded, but a fan, Jeremy Piatt, did start a GoFundMe page to help out his favorite artist.

West’s tweet about his debt prompted the Philadelphia Police Department to tweet a photo of West’s face photoshopped onto the body of an officer in uniform.

The tweet read:

We R hiring, @kanyewest! Starting salary of $47,920; u could be debt-free by the year 3122!

According to a BuzzFeed News article, West did an interview in 2013 with SaturdayNightOnline.com, where he compared his work to that of a police officer.

In the interview, West made the comment while discussing a mountain prop used in his onstage performances of songs like “Coldest Winter.”

“And if I slipped…You never know. And, I think about it. I think about my family and I’m like ‘Wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something. You literally go out to do your job everyday, knowing that something could happen to you.”

That prompted a response from police chief David Oliver of Brimfield, Ohio.

Oliver wrote a response to West in widely-popular and sarcastic Facebook post saying in part:

“I want to thank you for putting your life on the line for us all everyday. I know that being a rapper is tough work. I have tried to rap, and it is very difficult to keep up with the pulse of the rhyme flow…although when Ice Ice Baby comes on the radio, I can usually keep up with ol’ Vanilla. Anywho, your job is just some very dangerous work. Most people don’t conside…if you rap really fast, without a chance to inhale, you could pass out and hit your head.”

So far, West hasn’t responded to the Philadelphia Police Department’s offer.
