SAN FRANCISCO — What would the world look like with less strangers?
That’s what Airbnb wants to find out from their new campaign.
Airbnb is a community marketplace based in San Francisco, which helps connect people around the world with housing accommodations from one night to a month. In 2015 Airbnb is launching a campaign called #OneLessStranger.
The company will gift $1 million to 100,000 global community members. Those chosen will receive $10, or the foreign currency equivalent, to use toward a random and unique act of kindness.
It doesn’t stop there though. Airbnb wants participants to post about their experiences on social media using the hashtag #OneLessStranger, in hopes that the global community will be inspired to pay it forward and the world will have a few less strangers.
