DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — The new four-lane I-85 Yadkin River Bridge will open on Friday night.
Crews will begin moving traffic over to the new bridge at 10 p.m.
All four lanes are expected to be open by 6 a.m. Saturday.
Crews have begun tearing down the old bridge. It was built in 1955, had four lanes and no shoulders. The demolition is expected to be complete by April.
The new bridges have four lanes in each direction and shoulders for broken down vehicles.
