Wreck on NC-109 in Denton shuts down both lanes of traffic

DENTON, N.C. – A wreck on NC-109/Glenn Street in Denton has shut down traffic in both lanes.

The road is closed between Klopman Mill Road and Peacock Avenue and is not expected to reopen until 4 p.m. Saturday.

The crash was reported shortly before noon. Davidson County emergency workers said a car crashed into a pole and knocked out some power lines. There is no word on injuries.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation released the following detour directions:

Traveling north on NC-109, turn right onto Klopman Mill Road and continue to Peacock Avenue/NC-47 and turn left. Peacock Avenue will re-access NC-109. Traveling south on NC-109, turn left onto Peacock Avenue/NC-47 and continue to Klopman Mill Road. Turn right onto Klopman Mill Road and continue to NC-109.
