Wreck closes part of Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem

Update Sunday 3 p.m.: Due to the power pole being knocked down, Duke Energy advised that the power grid in the immediate area of Peters Creek west toward Miller Street will be out of power until the pole can be repaired. The Winston-Salem Police Department urges drivers to use caution if traveling in the area.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The northbound lane in the 1400 block of Peters Creek Parkway at Link Road will be closed for an extended period of time due to a traffic accident.

A van hit a pole knocking the traffic lights and power out, according to a news release.
