BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are searching for two men who tied up a pair of workers while robbing a pawn shop in Burlington.

Police say they responded just before 7 p.m. Tuesday to a panic alarm at USA Pawn on North Church Street. When officers arrived, they met with the owner of the store and an employee, who had both been bound behind their backs.

The victims told police the store had been robbed by two men. The robbers took “numerous valuables” before fleeing in an unknown direction, police said. It was not clear if they were on foot or in a vehicle.

Police say the owner was assaulted during the robbery. He was treated by EMS at the scene for minor injuries.

The first suspect is described as a heavyset Hispanic male in his mid- to late-40s. He had “very short,” buzzed hair, a thin mustache and glasses. He was wearing a cream colored long sleeved collared shirt at the time of the robbery.

The second suspect is described as a thin Hispanic male in his late 20s or early 30s. Police say he had a “chinstrap style” beard and was wearing a shirt exactly like the other suspect’s.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at (336) 229-7100.
