WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- A woman has died after being stabbed multiple times during an argument with her boyfriend in front of her Winston-Salem home Monday night.

Police responded to the home on Upton Street around 8:50 p.m. to find the body of 43-year-old Cheryl Annise Bethea in the front yard.

Her boyfriend, 52-year-old Ferjus Bernard Moore, was also at the scene.

Police determined Bethea and Moore were involved in an argument that led to her being stabbed multiple times. Moore suffered lacerations and is being treated at a local hospital.

A warrant of arrest has been obtained charging Moore with first degree murder.

Police say Bethea's daughter was inside the home with an infant at the time of the stabbing. They were not harmed.

This is the 11th homicide in Winston-Salem in 2014, compared to five homicides at the same time last year in 2013.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Winston-Salem Police Department at 336-773-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 336-727-2800.
