SURRY COUNTY, N.C. — The Surry County Sheriff’s Office and the SBI are investigating the death of a woman who was found dead in her garden Tuesday.

The Surry County Sheriff’s Office identified See Vue, 60, as the victim.

Deputies were called to the scene at 143 Escape Lane at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to Sheriff Graham Atkinson.

The woman was apparently working in the garden when she was killed by a gunshot.

Investigators are trying to determine if the victim was intentionally shot or if she was struck by a stray bullet from a hunter in the heavily wooded area.

An autopsy will be performed Wednesday at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem to determine what type of gun was used in the shooting.
