Woman charged after body of missing boater is found on Lake Wylie

LAKE WYLIE, S.C. — A Rock Hill woman has been charged with boating under the influence after the body of a man that went missing on Lake Wylie was recovered Thursday morning, WSOC reports.

Rescue crews were called to Lake Wylie just before 9 p.m. Wednesday evening after a man reportedly fell out of his boat into the water and did not resurface.

Thursday morning, authorities arrested 50-year-old Cynthia Lynn Averitt and charged her.

The man’s name and age have yet to be released.
