Woman beaten and robbed in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A woman was beaten and robbed Monday night in Burlington, according to police.

The victim told police she was approached by a man and a woman near Lincoln Street.

She said the man punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground. While she was on the ground the assault continued and then the suspects took her money.

The couple then fled the scene.

The victim was treated for bumps and bruises on her head and upper torso, then released from Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Police are still looking for the suspects.

The man is described as older, possibly in his 60s, tall, slender with  short dark hair, a salt and pepper mustache, sunken cheek bones and wearing a black, leather jacket.
