Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies said when they arrested Katherine Marie Brown, 27, she appeared extremely intoxicated.

Brown was allegedly waving a shotgun and yelling at children on Wednesday afternoon that she was going to kill them if they didn’t get off her front yard, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said. The children were between 5 to 11 years old.

When deputies and police arrived, Brown ran inside her home and refused to come out.

The school, American Leadership Academy, which is about 200 yards away from Brown’s home, was put on lockdown until she was taken into custody.

Brown finally emerged from the house and was arrested.

A BB gun was found by deputies in her front yard. A search warrant revealed a second BB gun and a shotgun, deputies said.

Brown was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail.
