WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A woman is in custody accused of stabbing another woman multiple times over a dispute regarding a boyfriend Monday morning.
Officers responded to 431 E. Sixteenth St. at 3:35 a.m. in reference to a stabbing.
Investigation revealed that Shirley Starner, 18, of Winston-Salem, was involved in a relationship with the former boyfriend of Latricia Denee Wilson, 22, of Winston-Salem.
Wilson allegedly came to Starner’s residence to confront her about the relationship. The confrontation led to Wilson stabbing Starner several times in the lower abdomen and back area.
Wilson fled the scene after the stabbing. Officers were able to locate her a short distance away and also found the knife used in the incident.
Starner was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Wilson is charged with assault with a deadly inflicting serious injury. She was placed under a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 18.
