What’s the best beer in North Carolina? How about other states?

RateBeer.com has recently come out with a list of the best beer from every state.

The consumer website is dedicated to craft beer. Check out the findings in the map above.

They claim that “The Event Horizon” by the OIde Hickory Brewery in Hickory is the best in the Tar Heel state.

OIde Hickory Brewery wrote the following about the beer on their website:

The Event Horizon- an annual release. We barrel age an imperial stout in oak bourbon barrels, from several bourbon varieties, and blend the results. Dark and rich with bourbon flavors- once this beer grabs you you’ll never escape. Winner of a World Beer Cup (R) 2012 bronze award in the Wood- and Barrel-Aged Strong Stout category! Released each year in the late fall-early winter.

Of course, this is just based on opinion. North Carolina is home to several other breweries, including Foothills, Red Oak and Natty Greene’s.
