GREENSBORO, N.C. — Management for the Greensboro Grasshoppers said weather is the driving factor for ticket sales and attendance.

President and General Manger Donald Moore said that Saturday’s game against the West Virginia Power is probably the first game of the season with nice warm weather.

April is one of the worst Moore said, when it comes to sales and attendance but most of the loss is gained in late July and August.

“April was by in large cold and windy and rainy and I think a lot of times people assume we’re not even playing or you know they don’t want to go outside and freeze and quite frankly I don’t blame them,” Moore said.

The NewBridge Bank Park stadium holds about 7,600 seats. Last year’s average attendance was just under 5,500.
