AUSTIN, Texas — A road rage incident in Texas quickly escalated into a Star Wars-style fight Monday afternoon.

KEYE-TV received a video from a man who witnessed the violent confrontation.

It all started around 12:30 p.m. near Interstate 35 and Slaughter lane in Austin, Texas.

The video shows a man approaching a truck and tapping the truck’s window with a baseball bat. The other man then quickly jumps out.

“He got out of his car with the bat and I thought, I’m just going to start recording,” said Noel Esquivel, who took the video with his cell phone.

Then, the driver of the truck can be seen jumping back into his vehicle after realizing he forgot to put it in park.

“I was actually thinking that guy was going to pull out a gun right there when he jumped in the car,” Esquivel told KEYE-TV.

Instead, the man in the truck grabbed a long pole-type object from the bed of his truck and took a swing at the man with the bat.

Both men repeatedly hit one another with their makeshift weapons.

Esquivel said the men eventually left the area without any apparent injuries.

Austin Police are now investigating the incident as an aggravated assault, according to KEYE-TV.
