THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Thomasville police are hoping the public can help identify a man accused of committing a lewd act at a local Dollar General.

Monday afternoon, Thomasville police officers responded to the Dollar General on Lexington Avenue after a report of a sexual assault.

The 28-year-old female victim told officers a man brushed up against her in the checkout line she was standing at with her two children, ages 6 and 7. The victim said she realized the suspect had ejaculated on her.

Thomasville police reviewed the store’s surveillance video, which showed the suspect masturbating and then making contact against the victim, according to a news release from Thomasville police.

The suspect left the area before the victim realized what happened, the release said.

Thomasville police released surveillance images from the incident on Tuesday, asking for public assistance in identifying the suspect.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Thomasville police at (336) 475-7755 or Crime Stoppers at (336) 476-8477.
