Walkertown man arrested for sexual assault during break-in

WALKERTOWN, N.C. — A man is in custody accused of breaking into a woman’s home and sexually assaulting her.

Clayton Joseph Kirby, 23, of Walkertown, is charged with felonious first-degree burglary, felonious first-degree sexual offense and felonious kidnapping.

On Dec. 3 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 7000 block of Discovery Lane in Walkertown in reference to an assault.

Investigation revealed that Kirby allegedly forced his way into the home of an adult female while displaying a firearm and sexually assaulted her.

A warrant for arrest was issued for Kirby on Dec. 4.

Kirby was taken into custody without incident on Dec. 4 at the home of his parents in Walkertown.

He is confined in the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center under no bond allowed. He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 8, 2015.
