Wake Forest police officer suffers smoke inhalation in house fire

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — A Wake Forest police officer is recovering after being injured in a house fire Monday morning.

WTVD reported that the officer suffered smoke inhalation after responding to a fire that started at around 10 a.m. at 687 N. Allen Road.

Authorities said the officer was taken to WakeMed as a precaution. The officer’s name and condition was not released. No other injuries were reported.

The Rolesville and Wake Forest fire departments also responded to the scene.

Officials said that crews were able to put the fire out quickly, but details surrounding the blaze have also not been released.
