SAVANNAH, Ga. — Newly released video shows tourists jumping out of an out-of-control horse carriage in Savannah.

The incident happened on Monday when five tourists visiting Savannah had to jump out of the carriage when the horse got spooked and took off, galloping through busy intersections and crashing into several vehicles.

Two women and three children were riding through the historic district when the horse began running.

The 37-year-old carriage operator was ejected from the coach and treated at a local hospital with unknown injuries.

Surveillance video from the scene shows the horse bounding into parked vehicles, weaving between cars on narrow streets and galloping against traffic through busy intersections.

Police said the horse ran wild for six blocks before employees at a nearby restaurant caught up to the animal and fed it carrots to calm him down.
