ARCHDALE, N.C. – Charges are pending against a 17-year-old driver after one man was killed in a crash involving a car and two motorcycles in Archdale.

Glenn Davis, 52, of Asheboro, was killed in the crash, which was reported around 1:30 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Archdale and Trinity roads.

Police said Davis and another motorcyclist were both headed south on Archdale Road.

The car was headed north on Archdale Road and was trying to turn left onto Trinity Road, police said.

The driver of the car failed to yield to the motorcycles and hit Davis, who was ejected by the impact, according to police.

Police said the second motorcyclist braked and hit Davis’ motorcycle, but not Davis.

The driver of the second motorcycle was not injured, according to police.

The car was a 2013 Hyundai driven by a 17-year-old girl. She was not injured. There was a 14-year-old passenger in the car that suffered minor injuries, but was not taken to the hospital, according to police.

Police said charges are pending against the car’s driver. Investigators are expected to meet with the district attorney this week to discuss the matter.

Police said there is no indication that speed, alcohol or phone distractions were factors in the crash.
