GREENSBORO, N.C. — A woman inches away from being hit by an SUV that crashed into a salon says she's thankful no one was seriously hurt.

“I looked up and it was in the middle of the counter and I was pinned behind it,” manager Clastine Poole Covington said.

The SUV crashed into a Greensboro salon and spa Wednesday, according to police.

At about 12:01 p.m., officers responded to the Dudley’s Beauty Center and Spa at 709 E. Market St.

"When he came crashing through, it was like the biggest sound ever, I never heard nothing like that,” employee Alexis Marsh said.

Police say no one was taken to the hospital and only minor injuries were reported.

"It’s a blessing, we were safe and nobody was hurt or killed or anything, because it could have went the other way," Covington said.

Thursday the shop was boarded up, with spray paint advertising an "Open Door Sale" for customers.

"Humor is everything,” Covington said. “Laughter soothes the soul.”

The vehicle was reportedly in the parking lot before smashing through the spa window. The crash report shows the SUV was traveling about 25 mph when it hit the business.

No charges have been filed. A passenger in the SUV told FOX8 the driver was trying to hit the brakes, but they failed.
