WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Fire officials said $5,000 worth of property damage was caused in a vacant house fire early Sunday morning in Winston-Salem.

Authorities said the fire was reported shortly after 12 a.m. at 745 Brookline St. and 19 firefighters had it out within about 25 minutes.

Investigators said the fire was caused accidentally by an electrical short in the front room’s wall outlet.

No injuries were reported and nobody was displaced. Jim Hill is the listed owner of the property.
