Va. man accused of pointing gun at school bus after dispute over Confederate flag

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — An 18-year-old Virginia Beach man was arrested Monday after he reportedly pointed a gun at an elementary school bus.

According to WTKR, Joshua P. Dalton is charged with two counts of brandishing a firearm.

Police told WTKR that two students reported to the bus driver that the suspect was in a blue pickup truck behind the bus when he pointed a gun at them.

The incident reportedly occurred as the bus was unloading students at the intersection of Brian Avenue and Rachel Street.

The bus driver, who notified authorities, took the students back to Pembroke Elementary.

Before the incident, police say Dalton was involved in a dispute with several students at a bus stop concerning a Confederate flag on the suspect's truck.
