GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police from University of North Carolina – Greensboro along with students and staff members took part in this year’s Campus Safe Walk Thursday night.
Police led eight different groups around the campus, checking for things that could potentially be dangerous such as blown out light bulbs and blocked walkways, and making sure security systems were working.
Every issue gets photographed then uploaded to the school’s Live Safe app.
The pictures go straight to UNCG’s police department and are later repaired.
Some students like senior Tia Jarrell said they wanted to take part in making their campus safer.
“We’re all responsible for each other’s safety around here,” Jarrell said. “We’re Spartan’s so gotta make sure we can do what we can to take care of each other.”
