DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two suspects in connection to last Thursday’s double homicide. Both suspects are considered armed and dangerous.

Investigators believe Lloyd Franklin killed 82-year-old Davie Lee McSwain and 78-year-old Joan McSwain in their home during a crime spree that spanned North Carolina and South Carolina. Jennifer Michelle Lanning is also wanted for accessory to murder after the fact.

According to police, Franklin entered the McSwain’s home, located at 362 Garcia Kennedy Road, in the early morning hours of Oct. 29.

Sheriff’s detectives and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation agents believe that during the course of the robbery, Davie McSwain shot Franklin before he was killed.

Franklin then fled the scene in the couple’s dark blue 2006 Chrysler Town and Country with the North Carolina tag XRX-2142. Detectives also believe Franklin is in possession of a nickel plate .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver which was missing from the home.

The couple’s son discovered his parents’s bodies at about 6 p.m. that evening.

From there, Franklin’s crime spree continued.

He is accused of robbing a CVS in Aberdeen, N.C., that same day at 7:20 p.m. Authorities believe Franklin possibly self-medicated with the drugs he stole from the pharmacy.

Then, on Sunday, just after noon, Franklin allegedly robbed another CVS in Georgetown, S.C.

Franklin, 34, is wanted on two counts of first-degree murder and Lanning, 38, is wanted on one count of accessory to murder after the fact.

Sheriff Grice said the McSwains have been taken to the N.C. Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
