MOCKSVILLE, N.C. — Authorities said two employees of a Mocksville law firm have been charged with stealing money from the business.

The Winston-Salem Journal reported that Kelly Renee Jones, 45, of 1739 U.S. 601 South in Mocksville was charged Monday with 19 counts of larceny by employee, according to the N.C. Department of Insurance.

Jacqualynn Donna Stroud, 58, of 284 N.C. 901 South in Harmony was charged Monday with 12 counts of embezzlement, the insurance department said.

Stroud, a legal secretary with the Leonard Law Firm, is being accused by state insurance investigators of misallocating money from the firm’s trust fund from February 2010 to November 2011, the insurance department said.

Jones, also a legal secretary, was accused of wiring more than $30,000 from the business’ trust fund to her personal bank accounts from March 2010 to December 2011, the agency said.
