ELKIN, N.C. — Two men died and a woman was injured Wednesday when two vehicles collided on U.S. 21 in southwestern Surry County, authorities said.

The victims have been identified as Camden Bradford Power, 22, of Alleghany County and W.J. Michael Palmer, 73, of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

The collision between a car and SUV occurred about 11:45 a.m. north of the highway’s intersection at Mount Park Road in the State Road community, said John Shelton, the emergency services director for Surry County.

Palmer’s wife suffered injuries that were not life-threatening in the crash and was taken and released from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for treatment, Shelton said.
