SPRING LAKE, N.C.  — Spring Lake police have made an arrest in an armed robbery that happened in the parking lot of Walmart at about 1:15 p.m. Monday.

Authorities say Patrick Dewayne Flanagan, 19, arranged to meet a man there who was selling a diamond engagement ring on Craigslist for $3,200.

Police say Flanagan pulled a gun out on the victim and stole the ring at gunpoint, before fleeing on foot.

Officers were able to catch him a short distance away and recovered a 9mm handgun as well as the ring.
