Two arrested in Rockingham County break-ins

WENTWORTH, N.C. — Two men have been arrested in connection with multiple break-ins and thefts across Rockingham County. 

Deputies say Kenneth Scott Middleton, 34, and Justin Wayne Adkins, 23, both of Mayodan, are believed to be responsible for at least five home break-ins in Madison, Mayodan and Stoneville. 

Most of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the victims, deputies said. 

Middleton is charged with five counts of breaking-and-entering, five counts of larceny after breaking-and-entering, and five counts of possession of stolen goods.  He was jailed under a $20,000 secured bond. 

Adkins is charged with four counts of breaking-and-entering, four counts of larceny after breaking-and-entering, and four counts of possession of stolen goods.  He received a $10,000 secured bond. 

Both suspects have a court planned for Oct. 17.
