WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police took two 12-year-old  juveniles into custody early Monday in connection to the death of a teenager, according to a news release.

The juveniles turned themselves in and were placed in the Juvenile Justice Center.

Because they are juveniles, no further information will be released.  No other suspects are being sought.

Winston-Salem police said officers were called to a church at 432 Crews St. at about 8:47 p.m. Friday.

Upon their arrival, the officers located 15-year-old Jose Angel Chegue Mendoza in an open area behind the church. Mendoza had been shot multiple times. He was taken to Baptist Medical Center where he died.
