CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A cable TV show that had been filming in North Carolina is packing up and leaving thanks to the state’s expired film tax incentives.

WCNC.com reported that “Banshee” is moving production from Charlotte to New Orleans, which will cost Charlotte’s economy an estimated $40 million loss.

Officials claim at least four other shows that were considering shooting in Charlotte, but changed their minds for the same reason.

Banshee is an American action-drama television series originally appearing on the Cinemax network.
