GREENSBORO, N.C. — Shortly before 8 p.m. Greensboro Fire/Rescue responded to a call at 5 Spring Oak Court.

Firefighters say a 24-year-old tree worker was hired to trim trees in the back yard of the home. While in the tree, a branch came down puncturing his right arm. Because of his injury, he was unable to get down.

Neighbors called 911 as the man used his shirt as a tourniquet to help stop the bleeding.

Firefighters said his injury was not life threatening. Because of that they did not rush the rescue and took their time getting him down from approximately 40 feet up in the tree.

Firefighter first worked to secure him in the tree and take care of his wound. They then worked to bring him down at about 9:30 p.m.

The tree worker has not been identified.
