CLEMMONS, N.C. — More than 1,650 cyclists participated in the 27th Annual Bike MS: VF Corporation & Wrangler Tour to Tanglewood on Saturday and Sunday in Clemmons.

Cyclists selected routes ranging 15 to 100 miles on Saturday and 20 to 65 miles on Sunday as crowds cheered them on. Food and live entertainment were also featured.

Organizers said the event raised more than $800,000 toward their goal of more than $1 million as of Monday and volunteers said they are still counting money. The MS Society anticipates surpassing the million dollar mark in the coming weeks.  Cyclists have until October 12 to turn in their money.

Officials said all money raised during the event will be used by the Central North Carolina Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society to help support families with MS and fund research to create a world free of MS.
