A Tornado Watch expired around 1 a.m. Monday for Alleghany, Wilkes, Surry, Yadkin, Davie, Iredell, and Rowan counties.

A strong cold front will move across the state on Monday and bring strong to severe thunderstorms to eastern North Carolina.
For the Piedmont on Monday afternoon, look for partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid to upper 80s. A northwest wind will help to bring in drier, less humid air.
