Tornado Warning for Montgomery and Moore counties expires

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.C. — The Tornado Warning for Montgomery and Moore counties has expired.

The only report we have is a funnel cloud sighting south of Troy. The rest of Saturday it will be cloudy with scattered showers.

The National Weather Service indicated a tornado over Pekin around 5:30 p.m., about 10 miles south of Troy moving east at about 25 miles an hour.

Officials said quarter-sized hail and damaging winds in excess of 58 mph were also likely.

The locations impacted included Norman and Derby.
