CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three children are planning to have surgery Tuesday after police said a neighbor poured hot grease on them almost two weeks ago in Charlotte.
WSOC reported that Regina Shanta Terry, 33, dumped a bucket of scalding hot liquid over eight neighbors at their home after an argument on Polk Street, according to investigators.
Reports state that several of the victims were children. Police said she then fled back to her apartment.
Mary McLean’s family said she and her three grandchildren are still being treated at Chapel Hill’s Burn Center.
The McLean Relief Fund has been set up at the Wells Fargo Bank on Sardis Road North to help pay for medical bills.
A warrant states that police seized a metal cooking pot and fluid presumed to be oil from Terry’s home.
Terry was arrested June 18 and faces several charges including assault with a deadly weapon.
