WINDSOR, Va. — Three of four adults accused of tying a 15-year-old girl to a tree and assaulting her with eggs and beer in southeastern Virginia in late April were found guilty.
The Daily Press of Newport News reported that Loretta L. Miller, 48, Randel L. Miller, 47, and Ross Renicker, 48, all of Windsor, were found guilty Monday of one count each of misdemeanor assault and battery in Isle of Wight Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Attorneys for the three said they are appealing the convictions.
The trial of the fourth suspect, Margaret J. Allen, 46, of Windsor, was continued because her attorney didn’t make it to court, the paper reported.
Deputies said the defendants tied the teenager to a tree at a campground in Windsor, then doused her with beer and tossed eggs at her. No motive was provided.
An attorney for one of the accused claims the incident was the result of a “misunderstanding.”
