Thousands without power in Guilford, Rockingham counties after storms roll through

Thousands of Duke Energy customer are without power after storms rolled through the Triad Friday afternoon.

As of 10:20 p.m., the Duke Energy outage map reports that more than 2,700 customers are without power in Forsyth County. Power is expected to be restored to all customers in Forsyth County by 7 a.m. Saturday.

More than 2,100 are without power in Rockingham County. Power is expected to be restored to all customers in Rockingham County by 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Power has been restored to most Duke Energy customers in Guilford County.

FOX8 has received reports of trees down in multiple Piedmont Triad counties.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the entire FOX8 viewing area until 11 p.m.
